Use a square image of at least 512×512 pixels. PNG or SVG with a transparent background works best.
Where do I put the files?
Upload them to the root folder of your website (the same folder as your home page).
Does it work with WordPress?
Yes. WordPress also lets you upload a 512×512 site icon under Appearance → Customize → Site Identity.
